Nicholas Scott Real Estate are very happy to announce that we now hold the record for Yarraville’s largest sale price, ever!
Sold through private sale, the heritage listed property at 31 Somerville Road, Yarraville has now sold for a record $3,280,000 – setting the sale at $900,000 higher than the previous record at 82 Stephens Street, Yarraville set earlier in 2016.
The property constructed in the 1850’s was originally known as ‘Airlie House’ and later ‘The Elms’ due to the tree line on the property boundary. Constructed by Footscray Councillor, factory owner and Solicitor Stephen Stephens in 1859.
The campaign for 31 Somerville Road which launched in February 2016 attracted varied interest from both private and commercial buyers due to the outstanding media coverage the property received at the launch of the campaign including Channel 7 News, Melbourne and The Herald Sun.
Yarraville has become a sought after location in the last ten years, Nicholas Scott Real Estate Director and Selling Agent, Nicholas Skapoulas said “Yarraville has had a considerable price increase over the years with the somewhat gentrification of the area and desire to be within driving distance to Melbourne’s CBD”.
Rob Caniglia, the property’s Listing Agent from Nicholas Scott Real Estate Yarraville stated that “the property itself presented numerous options for potential buyers considering both the land size and the location”.
Established in 1951, Nicholas Scott Real Estate has been a local and independent Agency with a focus on the private sale method of real estate.
